The Africa Means Business Advisory Panel

Africa Means Business is overseen and managed by an advisory group of the following individuals:

Paul Collier

Professor of Economics and Director of the Centre for the Study of African Economies, Oxford University

Paul Collier specialises in research on fragile states, democratisation, and the management of natural resources in low-income societies.

Sir Geoffrey Owen

Wincott Foundation Chairman

Sir Geoffrey Owen is a senior fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science and is a former editor of the Financial Times.

 

Chaacha Mwita

Thomson Media Foundation AMB Project Director

Chaacha Mwita is a former group managing editor of Standard Newspapers Ltd and a board member of Ewaso Nyiro South Development Authority (ENSDA).

Nigel Baker

Thomson Media Foundation Chief Executive

Nigel Baker joined the Thomson Media Foundation in 2012 from the world's largest news agency, The Associated Press (AP), where he was vice president of business operations for EMEA and Asia.

 

Dr Fritz Gockel

Head of the Department of Economics, University of Ghana

Dr. Fritz Gockel is head of the Department of Economics of the University of Ghana, Legon. He is also chairman of the Board of Directors of Ghana Commercial Bank Limited (GCB).

Dr Levy Obonyo

Chairman of the Media Council of Kenya (MCK)

Dr Levy Obonyo is head of the Department of Communication at Daystar University. He is also the current chairman of the Media Council of Kenya.
